What Happened With Bell, Lucky and Their Kits, Chapter Five

“Kits? Well, who’s are they?” she asked.

“They’re mine!” Taz said over protectively.

His? When did it happen? How many are there? Move over, Taz! I can’t see them!

“What are you going to call them?” Bell asked.

No one answered her. She sighed.

Everyone’s ignoring me. When are they going to tell me anything?

She went to the prey-pile and got a rabbit for Pearl and Taz.

“Thanks Bell! Pearl? Do you want some rabbit?” Taz asked her.

When he said that, Pearl’s eyes lit up and they shared it together. Pearl and Taz went somewhere else to eat the rabbit, while Bell got to look at the kits. They were beautiful! One kit was blue-gray with silver stripes coming up from either side of her belly, another was just the opposite: silver with blue-gray stripes coming up from either side of her belly, and the last one was a tom and a mix of silver and blue-gray.

She went over to Pearl and asked her what she wanted to name them.

“I want to name them: Shine, Stripes, and Night. Do you like them?” she asked.

“Yes, I love them! They’re beautiful!” Bell yelped happily.

“The kits or the names?” she asked nervously.

“Both of them!” she said.

Bell walked over to the prey pile and noticed that it was gone, so she went to go hunt.

While she was hunting, she caught a rabbit and three mice. She buried them all together and went to explore. She came to an old oak tree and thought she’d gather some white oak bark for Sunny’s pain. She went to gather her prey, and she went back to camp.

She gave Sunny the white oak bark and she started a new prey pile. Pearl was with Night, Shine, and Stripes while Taz was with Benny and Quinn. She went over to Lucky, who was sunning himself and mewed,

“I think we should get going to the barn, don’t you? Sunny’s paw is better and Pearl is okay. Let’s go.”

“I think we should, Bell. Let’s tell everyone and go back to the barn,” He said.

They announced the message to everyone and they were on their way. They came across the old blackgrounds. They crossed it cautiously and someone had to carry Sunny because now she wouldn’t even look at a blackground. After they crossed it they ran into Tiger again.

“Well, hello everyone! Nice to see you again!” Tiger mewed.

“Tiger. Did you feel a bond with me when I met you?” Bell asked Tiger.

“Why yes, I think I did. I just kept it to myself though. I ignored it,” He said.

“I know who you are!” Bell exclaimed.

She ran over to everyone.

“Guys! I’d like you to meet my dad.”
