What Happened With Bell, Lucky and Their Kits, Chapter Three

“Hey Quin!” Benny meowed. “Hey Bell! How are you doi- Bell! When did you get here- I mean how- Where do you live now? Sorry,” Benny mewed looking embarrassed.

“I’ll answer your questions when we find the barn. Did you see a big red no-fur place on your way here?” she asked.

“No.” Quin and Benny mewed the answer at the same time.

“Badger breath! We missed it!” Bell meowed in fury. “We went the wrong way!”

They started to head back when one of the kits mewed in protest. Bell looked behind her and saw Sunny had caught her paw in a tree root. Suddenly she heard a noise. A no-fur pet was coming! She raced over to safety when she realized that Sunny was still there, yowling for her mother.

“Mother! Mother! Help me! The no-fur pet is coming, help me!” Sunny yelped.

“Hold on Sunny! I’m coming!” she yowled.

“Bell! No!” Lucky meowed.

When Bell got there, the no-fur pet was already on top of Sunny, and it just barely missed Bell by an inch. She stopped just in time.

“Sunny, nooooo!”she yowled.

It’s a long no-fur pet. There’s no way she could have survived is there? I’m a bad mother.

She ran and ran until she was back under safety. Quin, Benny, Lucky, Pearl, Taz, and the kits hadn’t said anything since the accident. They were walking slowly and it had begun to snow. There was an eerie silence except for the wind howling. The snow was beautiful out at night, but nothing could make her smile now. Not after Sunny was… killed.

“Mama! Mama!” the wind seemed to howl. Wait that isn’t the wind it’s… no it couldn’t be!

“Do any of you guys hear that?”she asked.
“Hear wha” Taz started to say but he was cut off by Bell.

“Shhh!” she whispered. “Listen.”

“Mama! Father!”someone mewed.

“It’s Sunny!” Bell exclaimed.
