What Happens with Bell, Lucky, and the Kits, Chapter Ten

By the time they got to the stoneyard, Tiger had started to lose his fur and Quin had gotten worse and was still coughing up blood. Bell and Lucky still had to push them on though. They really had to find the cat who will help them, or they would be doomed.
“Ahh!” someone screamed.

Bell looked around, but didn’t see anything.  Something rammed her in the stomach and winded her.  As soon as she got her breath back, she looked up and saw a fox baring its teeth at her.

“The fox! It didn’t go away!” Quin said.

The fox reared up, but Bell had just enough time to move to the side as the fox landed right where she would have been.  It tried to ram her again, but she jumped to the side.  The fox jumped in the air, but Bell was quick; she ran under the fox and hooked his paws out from under him so he landed on his paws awkwardly.  The fox barked loudly, rested a moment and got up.  It was clear that the fox had given up and was walking away awkwardly trying not to step on his front paws. Everyone was looking at Bell as though she had taken on three bare-skin pets at once.  Bell felt a strange sensation in her as though she was invincible.  As though she could sprint through 100 cattowns and not be tired.  It scared her a little.

How could she be afraid of herself?
